– Teaching an advanced Laboratory Techniques in Physics course (PHYS 352).
– Specializing in labs related to particle physics, EM waves, and signal feedback.

Junior Electrical Designer

May 2020 – Dec 2020

My work includes:
– Design of electronic circuits using EDA tools including SPICE simulators and schematic capture and PCB layout tools
– Electrical and thermal performance testing of cameras
– Ad-hoc building and testing of electronic circuits using electronics workbench tools and test equipment.
– Testing, troubleshooting, and kludging of first revisions of electronic circuit boards.
– Creation and maintenance of design documentation, assembly trees and bills of materials.
– Estimation of work and cost required to complete proposed tasks and the tracking of the work and cost as the tasks progress

Cryogenic Electronics Research Intern

May 2019 – Dec 2019

My work includes:
– Characterization the performance of high electron mobility transistors (HEMTs) at low temperatures (sub 1K).
– Design of amplifiers based on these HEMTs and simulating them using SPICE simulators.
– Creation of printed circuit boards (PCBs) for these circuits using PCB layout tools.
– Testing of the PCBs in a cooled down 1.4K continuous flow cryostat using tools such as network analyzers and oscilloscopes to measure gain and input impedance.

Robotics Club Instructor at Science World

My work includes:
– Providing customers with a fun, memorable, “out of home” experience.
– Positively influencing attitudes towards science, technology, and creative thinking by explaining exhibits and instructing curriculum based workshops.
– Being a host of OMNIMAX and Center Stage presentations.
– Creation of a workshop designed to teach programming to a younger audience using small line-following robots.

extracurriculars

UBC Open Robotics – Robocup@Home Electrical Lead 2019-2022

I am working on designing a robotic arm to compete in the Robocup@Home engineering design competition.

As a team leader on the electrical side, I direct the other students in designing, building, and testing the design’s actuators and sensors and accompanying circuitry.
